How does pricing work — IAP, subscription, or both?
Three planned shapes when the app launches. The first episode will be free, baked into the app — your kid can start without paying anything. After that you'll be able to buy episodes one at a time (lifetime, one kid), grab an Essentials pack for one grade band (lifetime), or unlock everything — current and future — with annual All Access for up to 4 kids on one subscription. Final pricing announced at launch. Join the waitlist for early-access pricing.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — kind of. The first episode is permanently free in the app, so it doubles as your trial: download, watch, decide. Each episode is only ~5 minutes, so you can see the format, the storytelling, and the mini-game before deciding what to buy. No 30-day countdown, no card up front.
I bought the Essentials pack. What happens when new episodes come out for my grade band?
Your essentials will stay yours forever — you'll never lose access to what you bought. New episodes we release later for that grade band become bonus add-ons; you'll see them in the app and can grab them at a bundle-owner discount (cheaper than the standard single price). Or upgrade to All Access any time to unlock everything, including future drops. Final pricing announced at launch.
Why no monthly subscription?
Honest answer: while the catalogue is still growing, a monthly tier creates a binge-and-cancel loophole — a parent could subscribe once, run every episode across 4 kids in a single weekend, and cancel before month two. That's not fair on the families paying full price, and it's not sustainable for us. So at launch we're shipping lifetime singles for low commitment, a lifetime Essentials pack for one grade band, or annual All Access for the whole family. Once the catalogue is large enough that a single weekend won't cover the whole library, we'll re-introduce a monthly tier.
What if my kids are different ages?
All Access will cover up to 4 kids across all three age bands (Grade 1–3, 4–5, 6) on one subscription — each kid gets the right age track automatically. If you only have one kid and only want one grade band, the Essentials pack will be cheaper. Final pricing announced at launch.
Lifetime episodes vs subscription — what happens when I cancel?
Episodes you buy outright (singles or Essentials packs) are yours forever — they stay unlocked even if you cancel All Access. All Access subscription unlocks every episode on the catalogue plus all new releases for as long as you're subscribed; if you cancel, you keep the lifetime episodes you've also bought, and the subscription-only ones lock back up.
How often do new episodes come out?
We'll add new episodes every term — All Access subscribers get them automatically; single-episode buyers can grab the new ones as they release.
Cancellation?
Cancel All Access from your dashboard any time — no fees, no questions. We keep your dashboard read-only for 60 days so you can save your kids' certificates and progress before it goes away. Lifetime episodes you've bought outright stay yours regardless.
Is GST included?
All prices are in AUD and exclude GST. GST is applied at checkout and shown on your tax invoice (or via the App Store / Google Play if you bought through IAP).
Can I get it for my whole school?
Yes — schools will get unlimited access to every episode plus the admin platform (dashboards, ACARA reporting, casual-relief access, DPIA + DSA). Three planned per-active-student tiers (single-school, multi-school group, district / DET) — final numbers announced at launch. Full procurement detail on /schools.
What counts as an active student? (schools)
A student who has logged in at least once during the licence year. Retired and graduated students don't count. The teacher dashboard shows your live count any time you want.
Can we export student progress data? (schools)
Yes. CSV export from the teacher dashboard, any time. Year-end rollover is two clicks and preserves a printable record for parents and reporting.

Unlike the family app, schools get unlimited access to the whole catalogue plus per-class dashboards, ACARA reporting, casual-relief codes, year-end rollover, and DPIA + DSA on request.
